Africano(Instrumental)***[5:10](M.White, L.Dunn): Maurice White (group founder) and Charles Stepney ( Co-producer) decided
to further EW&F's venture into world music. The interlude pre-empting Africano is oustanding, as it showcases, the flute
of Andrew Woolfolk, the crystal raindrop sounds of a kalimba all while Maurice and Philip Bailey make vocal expressions akin
to moaning (Was this an extension of "Ain't No Harm to Moan" recorded during the Open Our Eyes sessions)?
Just after the flutes fade away, the pealing sound of timbales overtakes everything within' earshot. Clavinets , rhythm
guitars, wah-wah guitars, driving tom toms, raining conga's and other percussion instruments, topped by horns in crisis is
"Africano. The break down is the best part. The alto sax work here is exceptional.
Africano was ideal at the time to showcase how far EW&F had come as musicians.
