Getaway

Getaway****[3:47](B.Taylor, P.Cor): Getaway blasts off of booming speakers to inviting eardrums the same way as a rocket blasts off towards outer space. The first single release from the album "Spirit" is an array of potent musical tones literally unheard of at that time. Layers of synthesizers augment music and vocals, bringing an immediate sense of urgency to this jam. Frangible guitars, keyboards swirling like an out of control carousel. The drums are pounding like a herd of mammoth within an 8/8 tempo, and the icing on this cake is the excellent vocal arrangement, operatic falsetto done with urgency. "Getaway" is danceable, but it's never been considered dance music. But with so many other things happening, it's entertaining to just sit back and listen, but if it's hard to sit back and listen, that's understandable.
