5. Don't Leave Me Baby:****: Among the better solo efforts ever by Philip Bailey. Moderately slow ballad with a rock appeal.
Bailey sings with falsetto urgency throughout each verse, then handles all of the background vocals at the end. This song
reminds me of The Beatles Number 9 Song in that each vocalist is overdubbed singing a different phrase, yet it all comes together.
Bailey does the same thing here adding a nice climax where he hits high notes from another planet and it works brilliantly.
