You***+ [5:10] (M. White, D, Foster, B, Russell): Keyboards and woodwinds usher in this quiet storm, oozing with romance, passion and "cherry painted skies". Tenor lead vocals mixed with crooning a few falsetto notes every few bars for good measure works beautifully. Strings take this ballad through varied emotions, the bass-work accentuates the melody, (During this era, most other bass players were into slapping and thumpin' even on slow jams), but bassist Verdine White stayed true to his roots and it showed with this line adding more flavor to the already tasteful array of instruments. "You" culminates with an alto sax solo featuring saxophone extraordinairre Don Myricks.

On certain copies of Faces, the sax solo in this song is :05 seconds longer.
