And Love Goes On *** [4:05] (M. White, V. White, Dunn,Foster,Russell) Third single release from the "Faces" album.
Introduction is similar to the piano motif from the Doobie-Brothers 1979 hit "What a Fool Believes". The rest is
EW&F originality. Actually, "Love Goes On" is kind of conservative for an EW&F song, but it has a lot going
for it, starting with the 4/4 drum tempo that merges with a multitude of Afro-Latin-percussion instruments. Excellent rhythm
guitars augmented by finical yet briskly-paced bass lines. Full brass from start to finish and a nice string arrangement.
The lead vocals are straight-forward and the hook is full falsetto harmony. Overall "Love Goes On" is a fun song
and even turned out to be a light R&B hit.
