Magnetic*** [4:19] (Martin Page): Uptempo first single release from
"Electric Universe" album is techno, high end synthetic, pop. Synthesizers teeming in place of traditional instruments, high
tenor vocals blended with scant falsetto. Guitar and bass solo's appear and away we go! Unfortunately, as fun as "Magnetic" sounds, it didn't catch on to the record buying public. Even the seldom-played
video for this song though a step above the norm for a 1983 video, didnt appeal to mass audiences, so I can only say that
EW&F had worn out its welcome in many circles, or maybe the hook was just a little too poppish, when in the past, creativity
reigned.
